Vintage Electronics

Hello And Welcome

Since i was a little boy, i have had a fascination with all things Vintage Electronic.  Little gadgets that can do things just was just soooo cool to me.  Where all the other kids were into sports and baseball cards, i was interested in electronic equipment.

To me it was a lot more fun to play with something that had moving parts and things, as opposed to pictures of sports figures on card board.  that was the i always was, and that has never changed for me.

Ok, i’ll just say it.  I was a nerd growing up in school.  Science always held a deep fascination for me and that will never change.  But not just electronics per se, but old pieces of electronics, stuff that was in fashion years back, even decades back.

I just like to see what society of old used to have in order to go about there lives, and looking at the technology that they used to use for every day life is  a great look into that period of life.

It’s also a great barometer of exactly how far we have gotten into the future in terms of technology.  And make no mistake, looking at the so called “advanced” stuff that you use today, whether it be:

  • Your Ipod
  • Your Cell phone
  • Your flat screen TV

Will one day be a vintage electronic that somebody, like me, will look at with fascination and curiosity.  It will be looked on as something so “simple” and “mundane” compared to whatever they have in there period in time.  Hard to think now, because that stuff looks so advanced, but it won’t be in the near future.

So that is why i have made this blog.  To share all of the Vintage Electronics stuff that is out there and share it with the world.  so take a look around and let me know what you think.  I’d be happy to hear your comments.

Below is a cool video i saw that shows some cool vintage electronics, combined with nice music.  Enjoy!
